Back in 2018, the founders of Jessie et Laurent, Jessie and Laurent Boucher, were tickled by the idea of retiring, in order to spend more time in New Zealand, a country they had grown very fond of, and also a country where their son Henri had settled (he will soon be married!). It would also give them the opportunity to spend additional time in France, Laurent’s homeland, as well as in California where their home base will always be.
Their love of the outdoors is clear, and the path is now wide open for them to keep exploring, hiking, sailing and collecting new memories.
In February 2019, by pure serendipity and surprisingly quickly, they sold their highly successful gourmet meal delivery company of 38 years to a group of four individuals, each one with its own unique specialty in the food industry, and each with a keen eye of envisioning a bright and exiting future for the ‘new’ company they were just taking on. Do take a look at our About Section to learn more about this amazing quartet at the helm of the renamed Jessie And Laurent: Rick Graves, Alex and Lisa Stricker and John Scheuring. Also exciting was that the entire kitchen team was staying on; Adeline Ropion would remain as the long-term Director of Operations , and the delivery team was on board too.
It is thanks to Jessie and Laurent that the business they founded almost 40 years ago is still thriving and still the Bay Area’s premier gourmet meal delivery service.
